About Wheatland Farm

Wheatland Farm is a tranquil haven of 21 acres managed for Devon’s wildlife and your low carbon holiday. The farm has just 5 places to stay, with an absolute maximum of 26 guests, and has twice won Visit England’s top award for sustainable tourism. 

Because we’re not a conventional farm there’s plenty of space for you: you’ll find Hot Tubs, boats on the biggest pond, mown paths through the meadows, benches with views, campfire spots, an outdoor chess table and badminton lawn, fishing, room for the kids to run off some energy, free bikes to borrow, etc etc…

Balebarn Lodge is Wheatland Farm’s largest and most luxury Devon eco lodge. It’s also our most accessible holiday accommodation. Lime plastered and insulated with straw bales, it is sleek, modern yet rustic. Its huge veranda has ample room and gives you glorious views of the wildlife pond. Balebarn Eco Lodge offers holiday accommodation with many features:

• Double bedroom with queen sized bed.
• Twin room that can become a king-sized double.
• Small double bedroom that can become a single to give more space.
• Bunk room with sturdy bunks.
• Open plan living area with wood burner and local Devon wood.
• Main bathroom with bath, over bath shower, loo, and basin.
• Second bathroom with loo, basin and wetroom style shower.
• Kitchen area with induction hob, oven, microwave combi oven, dishwasher and fridge freezer.
• Upright piano (tuned twice a year)
• Optional Hot Tub (£35 per stay).
