Built in 2007, La Fresnaie is a modern two-storey house on a ¼-acre plot adjacent to our two other holiday cottages. The property has been designed to cater for the needs of disabled people and offers excellent accessibility for wheelchair users on the ground floor, including a wet-room-style bathroom. Furnished to a high standard, the ground floor of La Fresnaie is all on one level, with tiled floors throughout. The front and kitchen doorways are wide enough for wheelchair access – and there is sufficient room for manoeuvring with ease inside the house.The large, open-sided garage has room for two cars, with covered access to the front door and the ground floor of the house straight from the garage, which ensures protection from the weather all year round.
On the same level as the house and garage are a west-facing, covered terrace and a south-facing open terrace. Equipped with garden furniture and a barbecue, both terraces are accessible from the house via the front and kitchen doors.
La Fermette and Le Fournil are converted farm buildings and date from around 1840. All three properties form part of Le Haut Fresnay, which is situated just over half a mile away from the village of Loré. The small market town of Céaucé is about 2 miles away and the mediaeval town of Domfront is 8 miles away. Le Haut Fresnay is set in six acres of grounds with lawns, shrubberies, mature trees, meadowland and a stream, which meanders gently down the valley. It is an ideal holiday retreat for all who seek the tranquillity of the Normandy countryside. Le Haut Fresnay was a working farm until the early 1970s, with several outbuildings and is in village of Loré, close to Ceaucé.
